m = - ( 1 / 4 )

Explanation:

Slope is rise over run.

y = mx + c;

m = ( Δy / Δx );

They give us two points (-4, 3) and (4, 1).

The change is the difference.

Δy = 3 - 1 = 2;

Δx = -4 - 4 = -8;

m = ( 2 / -8 );

m = -( 1 / 4 );
