substitute the y or x for zero,

so 4x-10(0)=20
4x-0=20
4x=20
x=5

then do the same with x
4(0)-10y=20
0-10y=20
-10y=20
y=-2

so the x-intercept is 5 and the y-intercept is -2

Answer:

x int = (5,0)

y int = (0,-2)

Explanation:

To solve for x int set y as zero

4x - 10(0) = 20

4x - 0 = 20

4x = 20 divide by 4 to get x alone

x = 5

To solve for y set x as zero

4(0) - 10y = 20

0 - 10y = 20

- 10y = 20 divide by -10 to get y alone

y = -2
