How did the first Seminole war influence U.S. acquisition of Florida?

Key attacks on Spanish settlements gave the U.S. control over major cities in the territory.
Battles forced Spain to relinquish control and give the territory to the U.S.
Seminole victories made it difficult for Spain to govern Native Americans.
Spain realized it had little control over its land and agreed to sell it.

I'm not entirely sure, but I would think its the second option.
