Answer: -64/33 or -1 31/33

Explanation:

First, whenever you are dividing mixed fractions we always convert them to an improper fraction, so let’s do that first.

We multiply the whole number to the denominator and then add that number to the numerator.
-5 1/3

This would be (-5*3) + -1(note that since it’s a negative number, we would have to subtract this

= -16, and add the original denominator 3 also, so it’s -16/3

Do the same for 2 3/4

(2*4) + 3 = 11

11/4

(-16/3) / (11/4)

Now to convert this expression into multiplication, we use the reciprocal(flipped version) of the divisor

11/4 would become 4/11

Which makes the expression:

(-16/3) * (4/11)

Now just multiply the denominators with each other and the numerators

-16*4 = -64

3*11 = 33

Your answer would be -64/33 or in mixed fraction form, -1 31/33

Answer:

\sf -1(31)/(33)

Explanation:

Fraction division:

  • First convert mixed fraction to improper fraction.

\sf -5(1)/(3)=(-16)/(3)\\\\\\2(3)/(4)=(11)/(4)

  • Use KCF method. Keep the first fraction. Change division to multiplication and flip the second fraction.

\sf (-16)/(3) \ / \ (11)/(4)=(-16)/(3)*(4)/(11)

\sf = ((-16)*4)/(3*11)\\\\=(-64)/(33)\\\\

  • Now, convert improper fraction to mixed fraction.

\sf = -1(31)/(33)
