9 3/4 acres in 3 3/8 days = 9 6/8 acres in 3 3/8 days

(72 + 6)/8 = 78/8

(24 + 3)/8 = 27/8

78/8 divided by 27/8 = 78/27 = 26/9 or 2 8/9 acres/day
