To identify the solution of the system, solve for the value of y for each equation.


\begin{gathered} y=-2x-2 \\ y=-2x \end{gathered}

Notice that when we subtract the second equation for the first equation, the obtained equation is not true.


\begin{gathered} y-y=-2x-2-(-2x) \\ 0\\eq-2 \end{gathered}

This means the two equations are parallel. Thus, there should be no solution since the two linear equations will not meet.
