To get to this answer, we can simply solve both expressions we are given by setting x=100, as this is the number of copies that are needed.


Company A: (120+4x)/(x) =(120+4(100))/(100) =(520)/(100) =$5.20 for 100 copies


Company B: (25+10x)/(2(x)) =(25+10(100))/(2(100)) =(1025)/(200) = $5.13 for 100 copies

As we can see here, company B is 7 cents cheaper than company A for 100 copies.
