add 4x to both sides

2y = 4x + 8

divide by 2 on both sides

y = 2x + 4

graph. you start by graphing the y-intercept (which is b in the slope form equation)

then, you graph at least to additional points according to the slope. the slope is 2/1 (which is the same as 2), represented by m in the slope form equation

next is a matter of rise/run. You rise up two units, and over one unit (represented in purple)
