Answer: = 5.25 (Decimal form)

Fraction form: 5 1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

1 3/4 x 3

The best way I can explain is through telling you to start off by creating the mixed number into an improper fraction.

The mixed number is : 1 3/4, to convert it think of the denominator (in this case its 4.) Since there's only 1 WHOLE in the original value (1 3/4) only add 4 to the numerator once. 3 + 4 = 7, thus 7/4.

Now you can multiply 7/4 by 3 which equals 21/4. (Improper fraction)

To continue on, this answer could also be 5 1/4. (Converting the improper fraction to a mixed number)
