x = 16 % amount amount of acid = .16x

then (32-x) = 8% amount amount of acid = .08(32-x)

final product 9% acid = .09 (32)

.16x + .08 ( 32-x) = .09(32)

solve for x = 16% amount = 4 ounces 8% then is 28 ounces
