They are all gone away, The House is shut and still, There is nothing more to say. Through broken walls and gray The winds blow bleak and shrill: They are all gone away. –“The House on the Hill,” Edwin Arlington Robinson What is one purpose of the line that repeats in this part of the poem? to help the reader understand that the future is always unknown to explain that the speaker wishes to fix up a house that is empty to encourage the reader to let go of disappointments from the past to show that the speaker is thinking about everything that the speaker has lost in life
