the area (A) of a triangle is calculated as

A =
(1)/(2) bh ( b is the base and h the height )

here b = 2x - 6 , h = 4 and A = 60 , then


(1)/(2) × 4 ×(2x - 6) = 60

2(2x - 6) = 60 ( divide both sides by 2 )

2x - 6 = 30 ( add 6 to both sides )

2x = 36 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 18

2x - 6 = 2(18) - 6 = 36 - 6 = 30

perimeter (P) is the sum of the 3 sides , so

P = 18 + 30 + 15 = 63 inches
