when it comes to decimals, we can for the sake of the operation skip the decimal point and then add it later.

so for 0.166 * 185, we can just multiply 166 * 185 = 30710.

now hmmm how many decimals are there? well hell 0.166 has "three" decimals, so we need to give 30710 three decimals as well, so 30.710 and voila!

now, if we were multiplying say 0.166 * 1.85, we do the same, skip the points for now and 166 * 185 = 30710.

hmmm well, let's see 0.166 has three decimals and 1.85 has two decimals, so 30710 needs "3 + 2" decimals, so we'd need to give 30710 five decimals, so that'd be 0.30710.
