It is a little hard to read the graph, but I think that points (-5,-1) and (-3,-2) are on the line.

The slope is the change in y over the change in x.

-2 - -1/-3 - -5

-2+1/-3+ 5

-1/2 This is the slope.

I am going to use the point (-3,-2) to solve for the y -intercept.

slope = -1/2

y = -2

x = -3

y= mx + b

-2 = 1/2(-3) + b

-2 = 3/2 + b subtract 3/2 to both sides

-2 - 3/2 = b

-4/2 - 3/2 = b

-7/2 = b

y=mx +b

y = -1/2x - 7/2
