try out lots of different pads and tampons! start off with pads and then eventually move to tampons. there are many different types of tampons and pads, and every single pad and tampon won’t work for everyone. avoid sleeping with tampons in and change your pad/tampon at least every 6 hours! ibuprofen, advil and midol as well as heating pads help with cramps. showering always helps me feel better when i’m on my period, it just feels nice to be clean. keep track of your period with an app like “clue” so you can let your doctor know about your cycle. it will not be normal for a while, so bring pads and tampons with you when you go out! i also like to pack an extra pair of underwear and shorts in case of a leak. you can do this!!!! also dressing comfy when ur on ur period makes it so much more bearable :)
