Answer:

y = 2x - 5 is a line. determine the two points that this line intersects with the axes then connect these points to graph it.

Explanation:

Given y = 2x -5 set y = 0 then solve for the abscissa

y = 2x - 5

0 =2x - 5

2x=5

x = 5/2

we now have the point (5/2,0)

set now x = 0 then solve for ordinate

y = 2x - 5

y = 2(0) - 5

y = -5

we now have the point (0, - 5)

we now simply draw a line passing thru the two points ( 5/2, 0) and (0, - 5)

kindly see the graph of y = 2x - 5 with points (5/2, 0) and (0, - 5)

Hope this helps

Explanation:

y - 2x = -5
add 2x to both sides.
