Steps: 3, 2, 2, 1, 1.5, 2. Add together; 9.5
divide; 9.5 / 6 = 1.583333
round up to nearest tenth; 1.6

Explanation: To calculate average (also called “mean”), you have to add all the numbers together, and divide that number by how many numbers there were. ex: 5, 2, 7, 4, 2. First you would add the numbers together: 20. There were 5 numbers I added together; 20 / 5 = 4. The average would be four.
