Speed is a scalar quantity which only has magnitude but lack of direction. Speed is the distance that an object travels divided by the time it takes. Therefore we can mathematically express as:

\displaystyle v=(s)/(t)

Where v is speed, s is distance and t is time. From the problem, we are given the distance equal 900 meters and time it takes is 10.2 seconds. Therefore substitute s = 900 meters and t = 10.2 seconds.

\displaystyle{v=\frac{900 \ \, \sf{meters}}{10.2 \ \, \sf{seconds}}}\\\\\displaystyle{v=88.24 \ \, \sf{m/s}}

Therefore, the speed of rocket is 88.24 m/s or 90 m/s when rounding to one significant figure.
