In the New England colonies there is rocky soil, so there is not a lot of farming, but there is a lot of fishing. Then the southern climate is warmest since it is closest to the equator. To remember this you can think of this is Blue (New England) and then Yellow (Middle colonies) and then Green (Southern Colonies). New England is blue because there is a TON of fishing and ship building, and jobs that have to do with water. Since it’s too much water, it isn’t farming. The middle colonies is yellow because they grow a lot of wheat. The southern colonies are the color green because blue is water, so wet soil. Yellow is growing wheat, but In the south they grow stuff that is green. You don’t have to remember it this way, but I find that I remember stuff better when it is color coded. Hopefully this helps.
