here’s a step by step
find the GCF (greatest common factor) of 18 and 42.

this would be 6 because factors of 18 are 1,2,3,6,18

and the factors of 42 are 1,2,3,6,7,42

the greatest common factor that they both share is 6.

so then 6 would be on the outside of the parenthesis.

then you find the missing factor of each number.
6 x ? = 18, it’s 3 so 6(3 + ?)

then you find the missing factor for 42,
6 x ? = 42, it’s 7

so the final answer would be
A) 6(3 + 7)

MAKE SURE ITS NOT MULTIPLICATION INSIDE THE PARENTHESIS.
