the height is 18 inches

using the Pythagorean theorem

{30}^(2) = {width}^(2) + {18}^(2) \\ 900 = {width}^(2) +324

Subtract 324 from both sides


576 = {width}^(2) \\ width = √(576) = 24 \: \: inches
