or

y - 4 =
(4)/(5)(x -3)

These both mean the same thing.

First, we have to find the slope. The slope is the change in y over the change in x.

Our y's are 4 and 0 and your x's are 3 and -2


(4-0)/(3- - 2) =
(4-0)/(3+2) =
(4)/(5)

Now that we have the slope, we can use either point to write the eqation.

If we use point (-2,0)

The equation is

x_(1)

y - 0 =
(4)/(5) (x - -2)
