The perimeter of a rectangle can be written as P = 2(L+W). If the length of a rectangle is 4, find the width in terms of P. Show the work that leads to your answer.

Answer:

P = 2(4+w)

P = 8+2w

P-8 = 2w


(p - 8)/(2w) = (2w)/(2)


(p - 8)/(2) = w
