The decimal 105.7 becomes 1,057 when multiplied by 10. The same number becomes 10.57 when multiplied by 0.10. Explain why.

Multiplying a number by 10 such as 10 x 25= 250. It increases 25 by 10x.
Multiply by .10 is actually causing the number to decrease by 1/10x
1/10 x 40 = 4.
