THE FIRST STEP IS TO MULTIPLY EACH AND EVERY TERM IN THE BRACKETS BY 5

5(2x) + 5(7) - 15 = 15 \\ 10x + 35 - 15 = 15

THEN GROUP THE LIKE TERMS TOGETHER. WHEN TERMS MOVE ACROSS THE EQUAL SIGN THEY CHANGE SIGNS.

10x = 15 - 35 + 15 \\ 10x = - 5

(10x)/(10) = ( - 5)/(10) \\ x = ( - 5)/(10) \\ x = - (1)/(2)
