Finding people/square mile

There are x number of people in y area. To find x number of people in a single unit of area, divide by area.

((2.5 * 10^7) )/((2.6*10^5))

2.5/2.6 = 0.96

10^7

____ subtract exponents, so 10^2

10^5

answer is (a) 0.96 x 10^2
