Separate: avoid cross contamination by keeping foods separate when possible. example: do not put fresh clean apples on the table with raw meat.

Cook: use the proper temperature to insure that food is fully cooked and thus safe to eat

Chill: Use proper food storage to prevent/slow bacterial growth
