Answer: y=3x+1

Explanation:

3x-y=5\\3x-y+y=5+y\\3x=5+y\\3x-5=y+5-5\\3x-5=y\\So, \ y=3x-5\\

A line parallel to line y=3x-5 will look like this: y=3x+b

The line passes throught the point (2,7), hence:

7=3(2)+b\\7=6+b\\7-6=6+b-6\\1=b\\Thus,\ b=1\\y=3x+1

Answer:

y = 3x + 1

Explanation:

(2, 7); 3x - y = 5

(x₁, y₁)

3x - y = 5

-3x -3x

---------------------

-y = -3x + 5

÷-1 ÷-1 ÷-1

--------------------

y = 3x - 5

y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

y - 7 = 3(x - 2)

y - 7 = 3x - 6

+7 +7

-----------------------

y = 3x + 1

I hope this helps!
