Answer:The book The Outsiders has two social classes, Greasers and Socs, the Socs being richer and fancier than Greasers. Johnny was a Greaser and he had a very difficult and complicated life. Johnny was abused by his parents and his parents could care less about him. His parents didn’t care who Johnny hung out with, nor what happened to him. Later on, Johnny unfortunately, passes away. He had passed away a hero and a killer. Johnny had died feeling guilty about killing Bob. Bob was a soc that tried to hurt Johnny and his close friend, Ponyboy. Johnny was very innocent until he had killed Bob because he panicked and did it in the blur of the moment. On page 12 of The Outsiders it states, “His father was always beating him up, and his mother ignored him.” This shows that Johnny was mistreated often. If Johnny were to fake his death, he would’ve been thought of as dead and it would’ve a perfect opportunity to run away. For example, on page 12 it also Ponyboy states “He would have run away a million times if we hadn’t been there.” This shows that Johnny had thought about running away but his friends didn’t let him. If everyone thought Johnny was dead, (which they did in the end) Johnny would’ve been able to run away without anyone chasing after him.
