how could you use a graph of a proportional relationship to find any ratio in the the proportional relationship why does this work?

If the graph of a relationship is a line that passes through the origin, then it is proportional. If it is not a line or ray that does not do so, then the ratio is not proportional. The equation for the constant of proportionality is k = y/x. This is the same as the equation of the slope of a straight line with respect to the origin.
