it is vital that we first find the gradient/slope between the points .

m=(y_(2)-y_(1) )/(x_(2) -x_(1) ) \\m=(2-(-2))/(0-2) \\m=(4)/(-2) \\m=-2

The general equation of a straight line is given by y=mx+c I will use the points (0,2) to find the value of y since the other variables are found already.

2=-2(0)+c\\\\c=2

⇒This tells us that the equation of the line is y=-2x+2
