18.9 in.³

Explanation:

volume of cone = (1/3)πr²h

volume of cylinder = πr²h

For both the cone and the cylinder,

r = d/2 = 2 in./2 = 1 in.

Cup A:

volume of cone = (1/3)πr²h

= (1/3)(π)(1 in.)²(3 in.)

= 3.1 in.³

Cup B:

volume of cylinder = πr²h

= (π)(1 in.)²(7 in.)

= 22.0 in.³

difference in volumes:

22.0 in.³ - 3.1 in.³ = 18.9 in.³
