Absolute value brackets means whatever number is in there, will always come out positive. So that equals, y = 1 - 1, which is y = 0 ( x, y ) = ( -1, 0 ) When x is -1, y is 0. You will need two points to create a line so another point could be when x is 2, y is 1. ( 2, 1 ). y = |2| - 1 : y = 2 - 1 : y = 1

( when the number in the brackets are positive, they will still come out positive )
