The acceleration due to gravity of all objects in free fall is the same . Why, then, do some objects fall through the air at a different rate ?

While the acceleration is the same, the resistance of certain objects is greater than other objects.

For example a feather has a ton of air resistance and falls at a different rate, but if you were to suck out all that air that provides air resistance then a feather would fall at the same rate as other objects than fall at a faster rate under normal conditions.
