- 3/6 + (-2 4/6)
-2 7/6 = -1 1/6
(find the common denominator and multiply it by the numerator)

(-1 5/6) - (1/2)
-1 5/6 - 3/6
= -1 2/6
= -1 1/3

Just remember for addition and subtraction you need a common denominator
