We would have to use alternate interior angles. The alternate interior angles show that when two PARALLEL lines are crossed by a transversal, the alternate interior angles are equal. In this diagram, in order for A and B to be parallel, then the alternate interior angles of the transversal, 9x+12 and 13x-8, have to be equal.

9x+12=13x-8

20=4x

x=5
