At the beginning of a snowstorm, Aiden had 8 inches of snow on his lawn. The snow then began to fall at a constant rate of 3 inches per hour. Assuming no snow was melting, how much snow would Aiden have on his lawn 4 hours after the snow began to fall? How much would Aiden have on his lawn after t hours of snow falling

Answer:

There were first 8 inches of snow and it keep falling 3 inches ever hour. Since 4 hours have passed what you would do is multiply number of hours and inches of snow per hour:

4 times 3 = 12

Then add that to the original amount:

12 + 8 = 20

There is 20 inches of snow outside.

Answer:

20 inches

Explanation:

we can use the equation 8 + 3t to get our answer, with t being the number of hours. Since we are given 4 hours, it would be 3 times 4 to get an extra 12 inches of snow falling on top of the 8 inches on his lawn at the start.
