Answer: B (Y = -5x + 1)

Explanation:
The slope-intercept formula of a linear equation is y = mx + b.

Y = y value from your coordinate pair (x, y)
M = slope (using y2 - y1/ x2 - x1 to find your slope)
B = your y-intercept of your graph (on a graph, it would be the arrow that goes vertical, or up and down)

Since your formula is y = mx + b and your problem has given you the slope of -5, then you would plug in your -5 into the m value of the formula. Once you have written y = -5x + b, you would then plug your coordinate pairs into the equation.

It should look like this equation:

-9 = -5(2) + b

Once you written the numbers as stated above, you will begin to find the y-intercept.

-9 = -10 + b
-9 + 10 = b
1 = b

Once you find the y-intercept, then you would re-write your originally equation y = mx + b with your slope for -5 and the y-intercept as 1.

Y = -5x + 1
