Explanation:

3n^2 + 4n - 20

First you have to break it down into groups

(3n^2 - 6n) + (10n - 20)

Next you have to factor out 3n from 3n^2 - 6n:

3n (n - 2)

Then you factor out 10 from 10n - 20:

10 (n - 2)

It equals up to 3n ( n - 2) + 10 (n - 2)

Finally, factor out the common term n - 2

Which gets you (n - 2)( 3n + 10)
