1. On the left side, distribute 2 into x and 4 to get 2x-8.

2. On the right side, minus 7 from 27 to get 20 then distribute to 1 and 4x to get 80x+20.

3. Now that you have 2x-8=80x+20 you can simplify and minus 2x from 80x to get 78x.

4. Subtract 20 from -8 to get -28.

5. Now that you have -28=78x you have to get the x by itself so you take -28 and divide it by 78x to get -0.35 as your final answer.
