A clothing store of pants and shorts for sale in a ratio of 4 : 3. If there are a total of 70 pants and shorts available for sale, how many of those are shorts?

Answer:

The original ratio is 4:3 which becomes 70:53

So, there will be a ratio of 70 pants and 53 short available for sale.

First, you'll need to add the ratios.
4+3=7
Now, you divide
70/7=10
So there are ten sets altogether.
To calculate:
10x4=40 & 10x3=30
