Answer: y = 0.75x-2

Explanation:

∆y/∆x = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (-8-1)/(-8-4) = -9/-12 --> 9/12 ÷3 to the numerator and denominator = 3/4.
slope = m = ∆y/∆x = 3/4 or 0.75

plug in any point coordinate to find b. I used (4,1)

1=(3/4)*4+b
1=3+b
-2=b

Equation: y = 0.75x-2 or y = (3/7)x-2
