Disadvantages

  • Since it is free, voters will do as they please because they view it as free, so you cannot be punished.
  • Some may cheat because they have been on the voting line for quite some time.
  • Voters could attack the people that coordinate the voting because they may not agree with them. And it is a fair election, so they think it won't matter what they do.
  • Voters may try avoiding/breaking the rules of the election.

Populism. The majority of the population does not have to be accurate, they just have to be the majority. Also, there is the fact that if everyone acts in their self-interest, that can result in most people suffering from the consequence.

A shortcoming of majority rule is that the majority always wins and the minority always loses. If a nation has a rigid social authority, utilizing racism, it’s the same people every time who miss out.
