Y is 90° and I think x is 50°

The measures are;

y = 140 degrees

x = 50 degrees

To determine the measure of the angles, we have to know that;

  • Complementary angles sum up to 90 degrees
  • Supplementary angles sum up to 180 degrees
  • Angles on a straight line is 18- degrees
  • Angle at right angle is 90 degrees

Then, we can deduce from the diagram that;

z + 40 + 90 = 180

collect like terms

z = 180 - 130

z = 50 degrees

Then, y = 50 + 90 = 140 degrees

x = 50 degrees, vertically opposite angles
