To find 1/5 of 100, you put 100 over 5. (100/1•1/5 simplifies to 100/5) … 100/5 is 20. Next you do the same thing with the 1/4. 20/1•1/5 simplifies to 20/5 which is just five.

Answer: yes its 5 carats

Explanation:

⅕ of 100 = 100/5 =20 carats

¼ of 20= 20/4 = 5
