Explanation: A compound of nitrogen and oxygen is totally different from nitrogen and oxygen alone. They are chemically combined with a fixed ratio in a compound whereas in a mixture they are just physically mixed in any proportion. A compound has different properties than that of its constituent elements physically mixed together in a mixture.
