3a²-5b+8 how do I solve it ?

yeah, we use the quadratic formula,
a=3, b=-5, c=8
substitute those numbers into the formula
-(-5)plus/minus square root of (-5)^2-4(3x8)
then divide all of that by 2(3).
simplified this is 5 plus/minus the square root of 25-96 divided by 6 which equals
2.24 (2d.p) and -0.57 (2d.p)
