m1 * m2 = - 1 \\ 8 * m2 = - 1 \\ m2 = ( - 1)/(8)

THE NEW GRADIENT IS AS INDICATED ABOVE THE GRADIENTS OF PERPENDICULAR LINES WHEN MULTIPLIED THEY GIVE -1

y = mx + c \\ - 1 = ( - 1)/(8) (4) + c \\ - 1 = ( - 1)/(2) + c \\ c = - 1 + (1)/(2) \\ c = ( - 1)/(2)

THEREFORE THE NEW EQUATION IS

y = - ( - 1)/(8) x - (1)/(2)

HOPE THIS HELPS!
