James earns $5.20 per hour for his basic 40-hour week. When he works overtime he is paid his basic rate plus $0.80. One week he works y hours and receives $298.00. How many hours overtime did he work?​

Answer: 15

Explanation:

Normal payment is 5.2 per hour. Overtime is 6.

He earns 208$ a week for his 40 hrs of normal time.

This means that to get to 298, he had to have worked some overtime.

298$ - 208 $= 90 $

If we divide 90/6 we get 15

He worked 15hrs of overtime.
