HCF:

Two or more numbers are expressed as the product of their prime factors. HCF = Product of the common prime factors with the lowest powers. Division Method: We use Euclid's Division Lemma( a = bq+ r.) to find the HCF of two numbers a and b. i.e. Dividend = Divisor × Quotient + Remainder.

LCM:

When two or more numbers have the same numbers as their multiples, these multiples are called common multiples. Out of all the common possible multiples the one that is least (smallest) and common for both the numbers, is said to be their least common multiple LCM. LCM Formula helps in calculating this least common multiple for numbers.LCM = (a × b)/HCF(a,b)
